of Purchase
When you order with us, you buy under our terms and conditions, and by placing an order it is deemed that you have read and accepted these.
Please note actual product colours may vary from the images shown. Every monitor or mobile display has a different capability to display colours, and every person may see these colours differently. In addition, lighting conditions at the time the photo was taken can affect an image’s colour.
Payment
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our Stripe payment gateway on the website.
Alternatively, we will accept bank transfers by prior agreement. Please contact us (info@hermitageeditions.co.uk) if you wish to pay in this way.
Acknowledgement of Order
All orders receive an onscreen confirmation and, as soon as your order has gone through, you should get an order confirmation email from us. Please check your junk email folder and spam filter if it doesn’t arrive. If you have any concerns, please email us directly at info@hermitageeditions.co.uk.
You will also receive a shipping confirmation once your order has been sent.
Shipping and Delivery
Shipping is calculated to cover our high-quality packaging, the labour involved, the postage itself and full insurance. We regularly review our delivery partners to ensure the best value, although we won’t use couriers with a poor reputation!
All deliveries will require a signature. Any products returned due to lack of signature will require payment of a reshipping fee. We use the swiftest, most reliable shipping available at the time of posting, often 24 hours within the UK, with deliveries to Europe and the rest of the world taking longer.
Delivery times are, however, subject to customs clearance, local services etc, which may affect estimated delivery. If you have any questions regarding delivery, please contact the delivery service in the first instance.
It is our policy to replace books lost in the post. Please let us know if a delivery is taking longer than expected as soon as possible so we can raise the issue with the courier and insurance companies. The delivery system in some countries poses problems even with tracked and signed-for deliveries. While we will insure the books during transit,
All deliveries outside the UK will have full customs declarations; any taxes, customs duties, fees etc are the responsibility of the customer. Customs policies vary from country to country; your local post office should be able to offer guidance specific to your country. Be aware that any delays caused by customs are out of our hands.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing conflict, we are unable to deliver to Ukraine, and UK sanctions forbid selling to Belarus or Russia.
It is your responsibility to ensure full and accurate delivery details are supplied. We will not be responsible for any orders not delivered due to incorrect or incomplete addresses. Please double-check the address carefully when placing your order and on the order notification. If you notice an error after placing an order, email us at info@hermitageeditions.co.uk as soon as possible with the correct details. If a package is returned to us, you will be responsible for the return shipping cost as well as the redelivery cost.
Returns and Refunds
We do not generally offer refunds due to the limited nature of our books. However, if a book has physical faults or is damaged during delivery, we will work with you to try to rectify the situation. If a book arrives damaged, contact us immediately. Please note all of our books are unique and due to their handcrafted nature and natural materials used, they may have small blemishes. This is part of their special allure.
If the book that you have purchased has physical faults, either in its manufacture or from damage in the shipping process, please email us and provide a description of the issue and photos showing the problem. You must do so within seven days of receipt of the book(s).
We will then discuss the possible solutions which may be a replacement if available, or a full or partial refund. If replacement is not possible, we will refund you within seven days of the return of the damaged or incorrect book(s).
If the delivery is obviously damaged, please insist on recording the damage when signing for it. This information will be required by our insurance agents.
